What Topspark reads on your PC, what leaves it, and what we keep.

Topspark is a Windows app made by [Company name], [address], Israel (“we”). This page says what the app reads on your PC, what leaves it, and what we keep.

What stays on your PC

  • Files and folders. The launcher indexes file names in your user folders to find them quickly. The index never leaves the PC.
  • Notifications. The island reads Windows notifications to show them, detect sign-in codes and sort them during focus. Only the notification text of apps you allow is sent for a summary.
  • Screen. Screen text is read only when you press the shortcut or ask the assistant. The picture is sent for reading and not kept.
  • Microphone. The mic is on only while you hold the dictation shortcut, speak to the assistant, or a meeting is being recorded.
  • Meetings. Both sides of a call are transcribed on your PC when it can run the speech model. The transcript, notes and shared-screen pictures are kept in %USERPROFILE%\.dynamic-island on your PC only.
  • Clipboard history, notes, dictation history, settings are stored in the same folder. The database holding them is encrypted with a key only your Windows account can unlock.

What goes to our server

  • Sign-up: your name and email, a random id for the PC, the app version and Windows build, and the days you used it.
  • AI requests: the text, audio or pictures a feature needs (what you dictated, a meeting transcript when you ask for notes, the screen region you selected). Our server forwards them to Anthropic, Google or OpenAI under our own account and returns the answer. When one of them is down or busy, the same request may go through OpenRouter, which passes it on to that model or a similar one. We record which feature was used, which model, token counts, the cost and the time. We do not store the content of requests or answers.
  • Cloud transcription: dictation audio, and meeting audio when your PC can't run the speech model, is sent in short pieces to OpenAI or Google through our server for transcription and not stored.
  • Messages: if you link with a friend by invite code, the texts you send each other go through our server and are stored there, with the sender, the recipient and the time, until either of you deletes their account.
  • Crash and error reports, only if you turn them on (when you sign up, or in Settings › About): the error, the app version, the Windows build and a code made from the PC's random id (so we can tell how many PCs hit an error, but it can't be used as the id), sent to Sentry. Your user folder, user name, email addresses, file paths and anything that looks like a key are removed from every line first; no file contents or text you typed. Turning it off stops it at once.
  • Which features you use: once a day, how many times each feature was used (a tab opened, a dictation, a notice shown) and your settings (which tabs are on, the island's size and look). Counts and setting names only, never text. Turn it off in Settings › About.
  • Feature requests and bug reports you send from the app: the kind, your text, the app version and Windows build, and for a bug report the last lines of the log if you tick that box (no file contents, no text you typed).
  • A dictation you report as wrong: only when you press “Report” under the island and leave the box ticked, the recording of that dictation (at most a minute), what the app heard and what it pasted are stored with the report so a review model can listen and say where it went wrong. Deleting your account deletes these recordings.

Third parties

Supabase (EU, Frankfurt) hosts our server and database. Vercel hosts this website. Anthropic, Google and OpenAI answer AI requests under their API terms, which say the data is not used to train their models. OpenRouter relays a request to one of them when its first choice is unavailable, under the same terms. The optional file agent runs Claude Code on your PC under your own Claude account: what it reads goes to Anthropic under your Claude terms, not through our server. Sentry stores crash reports. Google Calendar is read only after you connect it; the token stays on your PC.

How long we keep things

Your account and usage log stay until you delete the account. Feedback and crash reports are kept for 90 days.

Deleting your account

In the app: Settings › About › Delete my account. It removes your name, email, usage and log from our server at once. What's on your PC is yours; uninstalling can delete it too.
